Feuch m'òglach! Feuch mo sheircinn ghràidh.
Behold my Servant! See him rise.

Feuch m'òglach! Feuch mo sheircinn ghràidh. Abairtean Albannach - Isaiah 42: 1 - 6. Behold my Servant! See him rise: Scottish Paraphrases 23:1-6. Fonn air a mholadh: Nativity (Henry Lahee, 1826-1912).

Feuch m'òglach! Feuch mo sheircinn ghràidh.
Behold my Servant! See him rise.

Feuch m'òglach! feuch mo sheircinn ghràidh,
'S e àrdaicht' ann am neart;
Mo roghainn e don t-sluagh gu lèir,
Dha thug mi spèis gu beachd.

Airsan gu saoibhir tuirlingidh
Mo Spiorad naomha fhèin,
Chum anns na dùthchaibh iomallach
Mo bhreth gun cuir e 'n cèill.

Sèimh agus ciùin, gun gheilt no buirb'
Bheir esan breth neo-chlaon;
Cha bhrist e 'm feasd a' chuilc tha brùit',
'S cha mhùch e an lasair chaol.

Gu lasair sèidear leis an t-srad;
Don lag bheir e làn-bhuaidh;
Feadh mhòr-thìr 's eilean sgaoilidh eud;
Is géillidh dha gach sluagh.

Seo deir an Dia ghairm nèamh gu bith,
'S a las na lòchrain iùil,
A thug don duine spiorad glic,
'S a dhealbh gach uile dhùil:

'S tu m' Fhàidh, a ghairm 's a thog mi suas!
Gach uair is leat mo neart;
O m' uile chumachd gheibh thu treòir
Gu d'chòmhnadh anns gach beairt.

Behold my Servant! see him rise
exalted in my might!
Him have I chosen, and in him
I place supreme delight.

On him, in rich effusion poured,
my Spirit shall descend;
My truths and judgments he shall show
to earth’s remotest end.

Gentle and still shall be his voice,
no threats from him proceed;
The smoking flax he shall not quench,
nor break the bruisèd reed.

The feeble spark to flames he’ll raise;
the weak will not despise;
Judgment he shall bring forth to truth,
and make the fallen rise.

The progress of his zeal and power
shall never know decline,
Till foreign lands and distant isles
receive the law divine.

He who erected heaven's bright arch,
and bade the planets roll,
Who peopled all the climes of earth,
and formed the human soul.
